Reflection : Heart of Yoga Weekend 2026

Thank you to everyone who joined us over the Heart of Yoga long weekend 2026!

The Heart of Yoga weekend this year was a wonderful celebration of Agama Yoga Centre, the teachings of our Krishnamacharya tradition while providing an opportunity for our far reaching sangha of teachers and students to come together.

We enjoyed a 3 day weekend of the ‘Heart of Yoga’ workshops and classes led by teachers who are currently teaching in the studio and trainers who are part of our yoga community. As the host of this event and the founder of AYC, I was overwhelmed with gratitude for these teachers who will continue to carry our yoga teachings forward. There was an exquisite variety of workshops all uniquely delivered with many happy participants at the end of each day.

Please enjoy a beautiful gallery of photos from our weekend below.

Tamara Keogh, (NSW) Senior yoga teacher in our tradition writes:

“I know you love trees. I know you love green. I know you appreciate what lies beneath as much as what we see at surface level.

I reflect on the guru parampara and the heart that connects us all…. the tree grows through light and nourishment both within the soil and from the experiences in the environment the tree lives within.

The roots are the teachings.  The soil those teachers that have gone before.

The trunk is the yoga teacher, the branches are the students & teachers of the teacher. The heart of all those who have gone before is connected to the heart of all those who continue to learn and grow on the yoga path. Each of us brings our own unique heart which is made of light and nourishment which allows the teachings to continue to grow and flourish”.

Join us for Barb’s final workshop weekend in November before she hands the reigns over to Fiona Hardie, to continue to offer Agama as a space for reflection and traditional practice.
