Christmas to New Year 5 day intensive
Sat 27 Dec - Wed 31 Dec | 8 - 9am and 9.30 - 10.30am

This year has flown past” is a phrase we hear over and over and our theme for this series will centre around this mysterious idea of time.

Two practices are offered each morning at 8am and 9.30am. They will encourage you to put your experience throughout this year to rest with gratitude, while opening up to the fresh new ones to come. Join both each day, or come to one.

A breath can symbolise how we live our lives through time. We can choose to accumulate more and more, loading ourselves with the old and leaving no space for fresh new life experiences. Living by habit, brainwashing ourselves through ground-hog day living or we can choose to live being conscious of each breath we take.

Breath of life:

  • Inhaling your life experience

  • Holiding it in your mind

  • Exhaling and letting the experience melt away

  • Hold still and feel a new space emerging

This means, being conscious about the past that influences us and the present context in which we live, and also giving ourselves space to reflect on our future. The expansion of the elusive element of time happens when we are fully engaged in our experiences and can hold the treasures, allowing everything else to pass us by without attachment. Memory and imagination are very active, however we focus on present moments to live our lives fully.

Join us for this annual ritual. It’s a 5 day retreat that is best experienced as a whole, but we welcome you for the time that you can be present.

8 – 9am | Dynamic Vinyasa krama

Dynamic Vinyasa krama class uses asana, (body postures) pranayama (breath work) and bhavana (visualisation) to ease off and loosen physical, mental and emotional tensions that build up at these intense times of the year.

Space is created in the physical body through flowing movement and stimulating asana that work towards staying to build strength. The conscious breath is used throughout class, further engaging the mind and generating internal space.

9.30 – 10.30am | Meditative class with deep relaxation

Preparation is through gentle asana to establish a long smooth breath, selected prānāyāma techniques to calm, clear and guide the mind into a reflective state.

These meditative practices will be layered with many inner tools to assist in sustaining focus long enough to experience a personal space to ‘be’ open and clear.
