3-day intensive: Ancient Wisdom for Current Times

Ancient Wisdom for Current Times

Friday 20 - Sunday 22 November 2026

Join us for a long weekend of celebrations and exploring the process of transformation in yoga. We are thrilled to announce this three day deep dive into Ancient Wisdom for Current Times at Āgama Yoga Centre will be led by Hanna Staaff and Karina Freij from Yogaskolan in Sweden.

Personal transformation in yoga can be on many levels — from our every day quality of life, making new health choices, and how we relate to others, to healing from physiological or emotional wounds and beyond.

Each class during the three days will delve into how the ancients tapped into universal struggles of the human condition via discussions on yoga philosophy, followed by a related physical practice including the rich variety of the tools of yoga to help us navigate our precious life on earth.

We will draw references from various ancient texts -- the main reference being Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra, with links to other classic yoga texts like the Bhagavad Gita, Hatha Yoga Pradipika, Yoga Rahasya, Samkhya Karika and maybe some Upanishads.
